This is the comment that’s going to make me try it. I love my spreadsheet, so I’ll have to see if this does everything that my spreadsheet does.

I just got my first computer controlled vehicle, a 2007 Volvo XC70. It’s fucking insane. The same code scanner equipment and software that the dealership has access to needs to be included with the car at purchase, and that equipment needs to be universal to all vehicles of that model, so it’s readily available on Ebay as cars go out of service. It’s the only solution I can think of to keep auto manufacturers from charging way to much for it like they do all of their parts/tools. You also should get all of the files that are relevant to the car with the car, in case you need to reprogram a module from another car. This stuff should also be available in some sort of database or something, maybe even government hosted, in case the files that came with the car get lost.
Instead, community members are left to reverse engineer and scrounge around to get tools working on their own. It’s genuinely insane how impossible it is to diagnose issues with modern vehicles as a home mechanic.
Sometimes you can’t fix something simply because you can’t replace a part with one from another car because it needs to be reprogrammed, but the dealership won’t reprogram it, and they also won’t give you the files so you can reprogram it yourself.
I’d rather get a cable that has the specs I need.
Well, duh, this would be more useful for those cables laying around your house that you’ve forgotten or never known the specs of.
I also realized that I just didn’t need all of the functionality and such. In reality I just need a file sharing system akin to Google drive.
Recently? Email notifications for my crontab jobs. I learned that snapraid sync had been failing for 200 DAYS. I was thinking it’d be easy for some reason. It hasn’t been.
Overall though, Nextcloud was a nightmare and I just gave up.
I use GrayJay/Revanced on Android and Enhancer for YouTube on Firefox (or any browser)
My electric skateboard still blows my mind. It’s crazy how well it works as compared to gasoline skateboards.
Huh?
Apparently a hot take, but I don’t have an issue with this, as long as they’re picture ads, not videos. An option to hide them temporarily would be good if you’re trying to read something. Maybe you’d need to hold a key or something. To me this is much less intrusive than 3 videos ads at the beginning of a video.
All of that said, I pay for premium, as I watch enough YouTube for it to be very very justified. I’ve probably saved weeks of my time not watching ads, plus it supports creators more than the ads ever do.
And there really is no reason other than that. I assumed there was meaning behind it. There is not.
There was an story a while back where it was discovered that Tesla focuses their efforts on the routes taken by creators (and other influencial people), to intentionally make self driving look better than it is.
Me? None. I just play for fun, I’d lose bad.
If there was going to be a game I’d show up for it’d be Forza Horizon, I’ve got the most hours in that and kinda do ok when I occasionally play online against randoms. Haven’t been playing much recently though, so the former statement probably still applies.
For me it’d be more of a backup plan in case I forgot my wallet
Yeah, and as if anyone would know. They’ll send out the announcement internally on the Tuesday before the next fitbit releases, then announce it to the public on Wednesday.
I have beat the game. I remember the gist of the solution, but I have no idea how to pull it off any more. I can’t wait to play it again, possibly with the VR mod.
Ahh, yeah, I’d guess the ecosystem isn’t that large yet, as updates roll out to Android devices n such. I haven’t really tested mine in the real world yet. I’ve been meaning to.
One time I got a notification that someone was tracking me with a tracker. It was my own wallet that is registered to my account lol.
How do you mean not worth it? The pebblebees are working fine for me.
Yeah, it’s cool that Google has finally got their shit together with that. What’s fascinating is that Google and Apple worked together to provide cross device notifications if an Air tag is following an Android or a Google FindMy tracker is following an iPhone.
It works like Tile and Apple’s FindMy network, mostly through Bluetooth I believe. Every single phone running android (and with the setting enabled) can ping the location of your trackable when nearby. It’s just like Tile, except with a network of every single Android device instead of just Tile users. If you’re unsure how Tile or Air tags work, then you might have bit more research to do that’s outside the scope of this comment.
I’m not sure what you mean by enable it, the first step would be to purchase a compatible trackable. Currently there are only two brands making them, unless others have started since I bought mine. Pebblebee seems to be the more popular ones, and that’s what I went with.
If you want to play around with the app, you can download it here, but there won’t be much to do in it until you have a trackable.

If this goes live, I’m out. YT premium is my most expensive subscription, but I watch enough YouTube that I’m OK with it, especially considering that it supports creators more than ad viewers. If I still get ads? Nah dawg. I’ll divy up that money amongst patreons or whatever, and install add blockers.
